Unfortunately moles do not know or understand property lines. Moles are just on the move looking for food. If you have moles in your yard there is a good chance that your neighbors in fact do have moles as well that you just can’t see or you just didn’t notice them.
Since moles tend to mate only once per year during the winter months, trapping in the winter means that every mole caught will be one mole fewer that can reproduce new baby moles the Spring. Spring is usually the busiest season when all the new adults and sub adults are claiming territory in your yard, so removing moles in the Spring will most likely lead to remaining mole-free for the rest of the year. In the Summer a lot of the activity tends to be in your expensive and beautiful flower beds or where you may be trying to get your grass to grow. By stoping them in the summer you will enjoy the benefits of having a mole-free yard during the most beautiful months. In the Fall, moles are very active with the cool and damp weather, and you will see a lot of activity at the surface once again and can be a lot a very important time to get rid of the moles that are planning on spending the winter months in your yard and reproducing. So the best answer is if you have a mole call S&S Mole Removal so you don’t have to stress about losing your beautiful yard to moles.

This also depends a lot on the size of your yard along with the surrounding area of your home. We will maintain your yard throughout the year to keep your yard mole free. But generally speaking a residential sized yard anywhere from 3-5 moles at one time.
Yes! We do NOT use poisons or anything that may be harmful to pets, children or your lawn! We strictly use traps and traps only we do not bait our traps. 50% of the trap is under the ground and it will be covered with dirt on top. You will not even be able to see the deceased mole in the trap due to the trapping mechanism is under the ground. We mark every trap that is in your yard with a bright orange 4” flag. Due to the fact that animals such as coyotes, foxes, opossums and raccoons like to get a easy meal and dig our traps out of the ground to get the deceased mole, we take precautions by staking the trap to the flag so it can not be lost in your yard for your lawnmower to find. We do ask if you have small children you tell them to not play with the traps or flags in the ground and to just avoid them. Dogs and cats might smell around the trap or urinate on them but other than that they generally leave them alone.
The moles we catch will be deceased in the trap so there is no chance of that mole returning. But any moles living nearby will sense that the territory is unoccupied and may move in. This is why we encourage customers to have a yearly contract so you do not have to stress about more moles returning throughout the year, you will be covered with no additional charges.
Yes, half of the trap is above the ground and is visible for you to see. We ask that customers do not touch the trap or pull the trap out of the ground due to risk of injury and insurance purposes.
Short answer NO! I know stores sell all kinds of solar contraptions or poisons but these are not effective in removing moles from your yard. While these contraptions may deter moles from there current tunnel they are using, it will just cause them to move away from that particular tunnel and create another tunnel in your yard making the situation worse. The only effective way to get rid of moles is by trapping, and continued evaluation of your yard through the year.
